The basic difference between a money plant and a cactus is on the region in which they grow.

Adaptability to a certain environment and drawing nutrition from the environment allows a plant to grow.

While cactus grows in a desert, or a hot area, the money plant requires a cool terrestrial area to grow and go for fruition and flowering.

Cactus has a deep root system whereas money plant has a root structure that is very similar to herbs.
