Monocots are those flower bearing plants with only one cotyledon
for ex: onions , daffodils
dicots are those flower bearing plants who have two cotylydon
for ex: avocado, cinnamon
leaf veins in monocots are parallel
leaf veins in dicots are reticulated
monocots have fibrous root system whereas dicots have taproot system
