Difference Between Monocot And Dicot Leaf -
Dicot leaf:-
- Type of leaf - Dorsoventral
- Stomata - Usually more on epidermis
- Mesophyll - Made up of two types of cells :-
1. Palisade parenchyma
2. Spongy parenchyma with larger intercellular space
- Bulliform cells - Present , particularly in grasses.
Monocot leaf :-
- Type of leaf :- Isobilateral
- Stomata :- Equal on lower and upper epidermis
- Mesophyll :- Only spongy parenchyma is present which has very small intercellular spaces.
- Bulliform cells :- Absent
