Difference Between Monocot And Dicot Leaf -

Dicot leaf:-

  • Type of leaf - Dorsoventral
  • Stomata - Usually more on epidermis
  • Mesophyll - Made up of two types of cells :-

1. Palisade parenchyma

2. Spongy parenchyma with larger intercellular space

  • Bulliform cells - Present , particularly in grasses.

Monocot leaf :-

  • Type of leaf :- Isobilateral
  • Stomata :- Equal on lower and upper epidermis
  • Mesophyll :- Only spongy parenchyma is present which has very small intercellular spaces.
  • Bulliform cells :- Absent

3.flower part in multiple of three.

4.pollen with single furrow.

Dicot

1.Embryo with two cotyledons.

2.major leaf veins reticulated.

3.Root develop from radicle.

4.pollen with three furrow.
