  • flowers are trimerous
  • tap root system
  • V.B are scattered and closed(stems)
  • pith is conspicuous(root)
  • secondary growth is absent
  • eg-coconut ( Cocos nucifera )

   2. Dicots

  • has 2 cotyledons
  • leaves posses reticulate venation
  • flowers are pentamerous or tertramerous
  • adventitious or fibrous root system
  • V.B are arranged as ring and are open(stem)
  • pith is inconspicuous(root)
  • eg-mango ( Mangifera indica )
