difference between monocot and dihcot

monocots are the ones which have only 1 cotyledon eg rice
and
dicots are the ones which have 2 cotuledons eg rajma

2) Monocots are plants with 1 cotyledon in the seeds while its 2 for dicots.
    Monocots tend to have fibrous roots(no main root) but dicots have tap root        system. The example of maize, a monocot may suffice to prove this point.
    Monocots and dicots also differ in their vein arrangement in leaves. In one          it's branched from a main vein while in the other parallel veins go from one        end to the other.
