Difference between Multiple cropping and crop rotation and mix cropping and inter cropping?

Crop rotation means growing of different crops throughout the year in succession on a piece of land at a certain point of time. Intercropping means that only one crop will be grown throughout the year. Mixed cropping is growing two or more crops together on the same field.

Mixed cropping implies a cropping technique in which different types of crops are cultivated together. On the contrary, when two or more crops are cultivated simultaneously on the same piece of land, in a definite pattern, it is called as intercropping
