If we dope the 4th group element with 5th group element,it is called n-type semiconductor.In n-type semiconductors electrons are majority carriers and holes are minority carriers.

If we dope 4th group element with 3rd group element,it is called p-type semiconductor.In p-type semiconductors holes are majority carriers and electrons are minority carriers.
