India's temple architecture is dominated broadly by two architectural styles:-

1. The Nagara style

2. The Dravidian style

The Nagara style of temple architecture was dominant in north India. This style is marked by a curvilinear temple tower which ends up almost in a point.

Some Examples are:- the Jagannatha Temple at Puri, the Sun temple at Konark and the Kandariya Mahadev Temple at Khajuraho.

The Dravidian style of temple architecture was dominant in South India. This style is marked by a pyramidal temple tower.

Some Examples are:- the Shore Temple at Mahabalipuram, the Kailasanath Temple at Kanchi and Brihadesvara Temple at Thanjavur.
