those parties which belong to a complete country is xalled a national party.

those parties which belong only to a short region is called a regional party.

National parties can take part in election from any part of the country.
Ex:- Congress , B J P ,etc
Regional parties can take part in election from their respective regions.
Ex:- J D U,.Shivsena, etc.
