The mediterranean climates are found in the regions of the western edges of the continents whereas the monsoon climates are found in the regions of the opposite side of the continents.  

The Mediterranean climate is characterized by wet winters and dry summers. The climate receives it's name by the Mediterranean Basin associate where this climate can be experienced.

The monsoon climates is primarily caused by the seasonal changes in temperature over the large areas of water and land. These regions are associated with humid weather conditions. These can be seen in South and Central America.
