A N S W E R :

Myogenic Heart :

❍ In " Myogenic Heart ", the constractions are indicated by a special node of modified cardiac muscles called " Sino - Atrial " (SA node).

Examples :

  • Hearts of " Vertebrates "

  • Hearts of " Tunicates "

  • Hearts of " Molluscs "

Neurogenic Heart :

❍ In " Neurogenic Heart ", the contractions are initiated by a nerve ganglion, situated in the vicinity of the heart.

Examples :

  • Invertebrates like anthropods (Cockroach)

  • Some annelids (Earthworm)

E X T R A I N F O R M A T I O N :

  • Acetylcholine secreted by the nerve ending accelerates the newgenic heartbeat.

  • In newgenic heart, the heartbeats originate by nervous stimulation.

  • If the nerve supply of the hearts of vertebrates is cut off or even removed from the body, it continuous to beat.
