❍ In " Myogenic Heart ", the constractions are indicated by a special node of modified cardiac muscles called " Sino - Atrial " (SA node).
Examples :
- Hearts of " Vertebrates "
- Hearts of " Tunicates "
- Hearts of " Molluscs "
Neurogenic Heart :
❍ In " Neurogenic Heart ", the contractions are initiated by a nerve ganglion, situated in the vicinity of the heart.
Examples :
- Invertebrates like anthropods (Cockroach)
- Some annelids (Earthworm)
E X T R A I N F O R M A T I O N :
- Acetylcholine secreted by the nerve ending accelerates the newgenic heartbeat.
- In newgenic heart, the heartbeats originate by nervous stimulation.
- If the nerve supply of the hearts of vertebrates is cut off or even removed from the body, it continuous to beat.
