In no cost production the nutrients required for a crop to grow are provided by the environment itself. It does not require any extra effort to provide the crops any kind of nutrients, like using fertilizers or providing for irrigation.
Crops produced using all the modern day costly agricultural practices is high cost production. Such as by using machinery, fertilizers and pesticides.
Crops produced using natural techniques and less capital is low cost production. Such as compost and crop rotation etc.
