The term node is primarily used in electrical engineering. It is used to refer to the meeting point of two or more circuit elements on an electrical circuit.

The term transceiver is mainly used in electronics. It is a combination of a transmitter and a receiver. Both the units are joined together and have common circuitry.

In programming nodes are data points or devices on a larger network. Computer, printer or cell phone are nodes. A node on the internet refers to anything which has an IP address. Actually, nodes are individual parts of a bigger structure. like tree data structures and linked lists.

A node is either the redistribution point or the communication endpoint in communication networks.

While the word transceiver is derived from two words transmitter and receiver. When a transmitter and receiver are housed together in a single unit and have some common circuits it is known as a transceiver. It is mostly used for portable or mobile use.
