Hey Friend,
Non-Cooperation Movement
*The events of 1919, like the Khilafat Wrong, passing of Rowlatt Act and the Jallianwala Bag tragedy greatly hurt Gandhiji.
*Therefore, he decided to start the Non-Cooperation Movement.
*It was a way of protesting in which one would not cooperate with the evil doer (British)
*He asked people to not to cooperate with the British. For this, he used the boycott and swadeshi programs.
*His aim was to attain self government within the British empire, annulment of Rowlatt Act, remedying the Khilafat and Pubjab wrongs.
Civil Disobedience Movement
*It was started by Gandhiji in March 1930 in accordance with the decision taken at Lahore session of Congress.
*The movement started with Dandi March.
*The Simon Commission and Demand for Poorna Swaraj led Gandhiji to start this movement.
*It was breaking the laws and thereby, opposing the British.
Main Difference between the two movements
Civil Disobedience movement involved non-payment of taxes and land revenue as well as violation of laws of different kinds. Whereas Non-Cooperation movement did not involve all such activities.
Hope it helps!
