Difference between now education and old education

The old style of education had a sink-or-swim way of teaching; if you can't learn the math then it's your fault. The new style of education is concerned with the individual learning styles of individual students and recognizes that students learn in different ways. It's not 'sink-or-swim' but 'we are all this together.
