difference between nuclear fusion and fission?

in nuclear fussion small, light nuclei combine to form large and heavy nucleus with a realise of large amount of large amount of heat and light energy
while in nuclear fission large and heavi nucleus split down into samll and light nuclei.

nuclear fusion is a reaction in which two atoms combine together to form  a big nucleus . mass is converted into energy . 
in fission reaction the nucleus divide to form many atoms .
