The nucleolus is an organelle inside the nucleus that houses proteins and RNA. Also found in eukaryotic cells.

The nucleoid is an irregularly shaped region that houses genetic material. This is only found in prokaryotes.

hope it helps!

Answer:

Difference between Nucleoid and Nucleolus:

Nucleolus

  • The nucleus is a biological cell membrane organelle found in eukaryotic cells.
  • It contains the genomes of every cell. It is composed of DNA, RNA, and histones with the exception of a minor portion of mitochondrial DNA.
  • Coded structures known as genes.

Nucleoid

  • The nucleoid of a prokaryotic cell houses the genophore, which is the genetic material.
  • Prokaryotes include the unicellular organisms archaea and bacteria. These organisms do not have membrane-bound organelles.
  • It may still be distinguished from the rest of the cell and identified using a light microscope.
  • The nucleoid primarily consists of several compact replications of DNA in a continuous thread, along with RNA and proteins. Double-stranded and circular describe prokaryotic DNA. DNA can occasionally be found in locations other than the nucleoid.
