Text data type :
It is used to store text or a combination of text and numbers that does not require calculation such as addresses, phone numbers etc. It and store up to 255 characters.
Number data type :
Heat store numeric information that you can use for calculations. A number data type can store integer values as well as decimal values. The maximum size of a number field can be 16 bytes.

Hi. In MS Access, the text data type is used to store string values while the number data type is used to store numeric information. Hope it helps.
