Heya!
Here we go! ^^
Starting from 1D (One dimension), If we try imagining it, it'll most probably be like a line on which one can go in 2 directions only, that's either left or right. Such pictures contain only one dimension that's length. However, a line is 1-D only when you talk theoretically.
Next, it's 2D or the two dimensional objects. Such objects have length and width as their dimensions unlike the 1D ones. For a quick instance, you can imagine a square or a rectangle being flat.
Now it's the three dimensional object or the 3D. It's yet one more dimension including in it and that's depth. It's the world we live in where we can go in every possible direction, either up and down or right and left. An example of a cube can be added in this :)
Finally, it's 4D or 4 Dimensions. Here we've time as the fourth dimension. Apart from length, width and depth there's one more variable physicists have been using. That's
So, the 4th dimension is actually space time or the gravity as explained by Einstein in 1905. Spacetime is a logical consequence of the constancy of light speed for all observers, and gravity can be conceived of as distortions in that continuum of universal public measurement. Another definition for "the Fourth Dimension" is the very act of perceiving (consciousness) or feeling.
