_______________Answer _____________

DIFFERENCE BETWEEN OBITAL AND ORBIT :

ORBIT: -

✴ It is well defined circular path around the nucleus in which the electrons revolve.

✴It represents the planar motion of an electron around the nucleus .

✴ Shape of orbit is circular.

✴Orbits don't have directional characteristic.

✴ There maximum number of electrons in an orbit is 2n^2 where n is the number of orbit.

ORBITALS:

✴It is three dimensional space where there is maximum probability of finding an electrons.

✴It represents the three dimensional motion of an electron around the nucleus.

✴ Different orbitals have different shapes.

✴All orbitals expect s- orbitals have directional characteristic.

✴The maximum number of electrons is in an orbitals is two.
