OSMOSIS:the transfer of solvent particles from lower concentration to higher concentration through a semi-permeable membrane till the both solutions are in equilibrium is called osmosis.
DIFFUSION:the transfer of solute particles from lower concentration to higher concentration without a semipermeable membrane till the both solutions are in equilibrium is called diffusion.

diffusion is a spontaneous movement of particles from an area of higher concentration to area of lower concentration
osmosis the the spontaneous net movement of water across a semi permeable membrane from a region of low solute concentration to a solution with high solute concentration.
