the reaction which involves addition of oxygen and removal of hydrigen is known as oxidation reaction...also the reactiom which involves loss of electrons is known as oxidation
on the other hand the reaction in which there is removal of oxygen or addition of hydrogen is known as reduction....also the reaction which involves gain of electrons is known as reduction
