Answer:

The p-block consists of the groups 13 to 18 elements but not Helium. The d-block consists of the groups 3 to 12 elements. The f-block consists of the Lanthanides and Actinides. We can also divide the table between main group and transition metals.

Difference between p block active and inactive elements are explained below:

- Group 13 to 18 elements of the periodic table comes under the P block but not helium.

- The active element of p-block is when it reacts strongly and quickly with other elements as it can easily share electron with other elements and due to its electronic structure.

- where as the inactive elements of the p block are inert metals as they doesn't react with other metals. on exposure to moisture they are highly resistant to corrosion and oxidation.

- Active metals can be characterized by readily exchanged to form a cation and really combine with gases oxygen and atmospheric water vapour due to single electron in its outer shell.
