Difference between page break and section break:

1. Page breaks are used to break a page where you want to end a page and start a new beginning of a page. Page breaks are automatically inserted when you fill a page with text or graphics. It can also be inserted manually.

Section breaks are used to divide a document into sections. It is used for formatting a section without reflecting its effect on other sections. It allows a section to make changes in margins, page number style, etc. i.e. if a section has page number style in Roman numerals, section break makes it possible to have different page number style in different sections.

2. To insert a page break do follow the following steps:

i. Choose the place where you want the page break.

ii. Then go to the Insert tab.

iii. Click on the Page Break option.

You can also go to the Page Layout and then click the Orientation button (Right side of the button). There you will get three page break option as Page, Column and Text Wrapping.

To insert a section break do follow the following steps:

i. Choose the position you want a section break.

ii. Go to the Page Layout tab, and click on the Orientation button (Right of the button).

iii. Then you select one of the section break options. There are four section break options, Next Text, Contiguous, Even Page and Odd Page.
