Thr simple difference between paramagnetic and diamagnetic is that the paramagnetic molecules have incomplete orbitals in their configuration and diamagnetic molecules have complete orbitals in their configuration....

paramagnetic substance are weekly magnetised in the same direction of external force. susceptibility is small positive quantity
e.g.. sodium calcium aluminium oxygen
for diamagnetic substance
it will be weekly magnetized in the opposite direction of the external magnetic field.
susceptibility is small negative quantity.
example copper lead silicon etc
