INCIPIENT PLASMOLYSIS :

If a plant cell is placed in a solution of lower water potential, it will loose water...

This process is called plasmolysis.

The point at which the protoplast is just about to pull away from the cell wall is called incipient plasmolysis.

PERMANENT PLASMOLYSIS :

The stage when the cell wall has reached its limit of contraction and cytoplasm has detached from cell wall attaining spherical shape is called permanent plasmolysis.
