Petal is among the non-essential whorls of the flower .Petals are bright in colour and they basically attract insects for pollination, generally in a cross-pollinated flower. Whereas Petaloid is the term given to the condition where perianth is non-green. Perianth is the case when petals and sepals appear to be undiffrerentiated in a flower.
When the stamens of a flower are free, the condition is called polyandraus. Whereas when the filaments of the anther in a flower are fused into more than two groups, the condition is called polyadephous.
