Petal is among the non-essential whorls of the flower .Petals are bright in colour and they basically attract insects for pollination, generally in a cross-pollinated flower.

Petaloid is the term given to he condition where perianth is non-green. perianth is the case when petals and sepals appear to be undiffrerentiated in a flower

Hope it helps you

The main difference between petals and petaloid is that petals are the true corolla of a flower whereas petaloid is the condition of having modified sepals resembling petals.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
