physical changes donot change the substance chemical nature...or otherwise they are reversible....like melting of wax...tearing of paper...on the other hand chemical changes are irreversible and result in changing the chemical nature of the substance...like rusting of iron...

A change in which a substance undergoes a change in its physical  properties,which is generally reversible and in which no new substance  is formed is called a physical change. Eg : Tearing a piece of paper.

Chemical change :

A change in which one or more new substances are formed is called a  chemical change.  Eg : Burning of Magnesium ribbon.
