Photosynthesis is done by the plants for their food, where as respiration is done by human beings to breathe

Both are different Phenomenons. Respiration is intake of oxygen by plants for survival and is during night while photosynthesis is the process of forming food for plant during day time. Also respiration involves intake of oxygen and giving out Co2 while it's vice versa in photosynthesis
