Animal cell

  • Cell wall is absent . Cell is enclosed by a cell membrane only .
  • Centrosome is present . Contains two centrioles .
  • Plastids are absent .
  • Vacuoles either small or absent altogether .
  • Golgi complex present near the nucleus , as a highly complex and a prominent struture .

Plant cell

  • Cell wall is presemt outside the cell membrane . Cell is enclosed by a cell membrane and a cell wall .
  • Centrosomes are absent .
  • Plastids are present ( chloroplasts give green colour to plants cells ).
  • A mature plant cell generally has a large central vacuole .
  • Several , scattered and unconnected subunits of golgi complex called dictyosomes present . Not easily distinguishable in the cell .
