Difference between plant cell and animal cell:-
Plant Cells:-
- Plant cells contain cell wall for their extra protection along with plasma lemma.
- They are rigid.
- They have a big vacuole which takes 50-90% of the cell volume.
- They have chromoplasts and leucoplasts, i.e. They have plastids.
(Note: Chloroplasts which contain chlorophyll fall in the category of chromoplasts.)
- Most of the plant cells are dead.
Animal Cells:-
- They don't have any cell wall; they have only plasma lemma for their protection.
- They are flexible.
- They either have many small vacuoles or have no vacuole.
- They don't have plastids.
- Most of the cells are alive.
