In electrochemistry, an ideal polarized electrode is contrasted with non-polarized eleteode(ideal) .
1) ideal polarized electrode has no faradic current (produced by oxidation or reduction) where as non-ideal polarized electrode has faradic current.
2) Polarized electrode-electrolyte interface acts like a capacitor.
3) Non-polarized electrode-electrolyte interface acts like a resistor.
Example of Non-polarized electrode is silver/silver chloride and polarized electrode example is platinum electrode.
