A monophagous pest feeds on a single or more plant species which belong to the same genus.
A polyphagous pest feed on two or more than two kind of species of plants.

How is a monophagous pest different from a polyphagous pest?
- A monophagous pest will feed on a single kind of plant species. On the other hand, polyphagous pest affect a wider range of plants and feed on different kinds of agricultural as well as horticultural plants.
