PORIFERA

•Porifera are pore bearing organisms

•They may be marine or fresh water dwelling animals

•They are commonly called as sponges

•They are asymmetrical organisms,i.e,their body can't be divided into two equal halves by any plane through the central axis

•They have only one lifeform

E.g., spongilla,euspongia etc

COELENTERATA

•Coelenterates have stinging cells called as cnidoblasts

•They mostly occur in freshwater bodies

•They are commonly called as Cnidarians

•They are radially symmetrical

•They exhibit metagenesis,have two lifeforms:polyp and medusa

E.g., Hydra,Obelia etc
