  • The Production and working of Metals as fine powders which can be pressed and sintered to form objects.

Metal Casting :-

  • The Metal casting is a process in which a liquid metal is somehow delivered into a mold that contains hollow cavity of the intended shape. This is mostly used in jewellery making.

Explanation:

In die casting, molten metal is poured into the die, where it freezes. After release, it usually goes through several machining operations and often a heat treatment. In contrast, the powder metal process involves use of cold powder. (Some variants do involve heating the powder, but not to melting point.)
