Practical classification is the earliest classification and is based upon the economic importance.
Examples include :-
=>Oil yielding plants - coconut, groundnut, soybean and walnut etc.
=>Fibre Yielding plants - Jute, cotton, etc.
=>Medicinal plants-turmeric, tulsi, Rauwolfia, cinchona, eucalyptus, ginger etc.
=>Spices and condiments - ginger, garlic, turmeric, clove etc.
=>Multipurpose plant - Turmeric, ginger etc.
