In total-consumption burner, the fuel and oxidant (support) gases are mixed and combust at the tip of the burner.
The second type of burner, most commonly used now, is the premix chamber burner, sometimes called laminar-flow chamber. Premix burners were the first purpose-designed burners

Answer:
In case of the total consumption burner the fuel and oxidant are mixed together which combinely combust the tip of the burner.
The fuel is usually acetylene and oxidant is air. This sample meet at the base of the flame which is bought up by the venturi effect.
The gas creates the partial vaccum above the capillary barrel causing the sample to reach the tip of the flame.
A premix burner system is made of two components, the burner and the gas mixing chamber. In this case the fuel and supporting gas is mixed prior in the chamber before burning.
The efficiency of this burner is very less.
