Answer:

The primary cell wall, generally a thin, flexible and extensible layer formed while the cell is growing.

The secondary cell wall, a thick layer formed inside the primary cell wall after the cell is fully grown. It is not found in all cell types.

Difference Between Primary and Secondary Cell wall :-

Primary Cell wall :-

  • Hemicellulose more (50%)
  • Primary wall have lipid (5-10%) and protein (5%)
  • Form by intussuception
  • Primary wall is universal layer

Secondary wall :-

  • Hemicellulose less (25%)
  • Protein and lipid either absent or in little amount .
  • Absent in meristem cells
