Primary functions of management :

It is the responsibility of management to see that essential activities are done efficiently (in the best possible way) and effectively (doing the right thing). The management process consists of four primary functions that managers must perform: planning, organizing, leading, and controlling.

Secoundary functions of management :

  • Ensure the availability of materials, components, and products for planned production and for Customer delivery.
  • Maintain the lowest possible level of inventory.
  • Plan manufacturing activities, delivery schedules, and purchasing activities.

Fortunately, it is usually straight forward to distinguish between primary and secondary functions.
