ANSWER

PRIMARY BATTERY

Those battery which produce electrical energy from chemical energy is known as primary battery. In these battery, the reaction will occurs only once and after use over a period of time it becomes dead and can not be reused again.

For example, dry cell or leclanche cell and mercury cell.

SECONDARY BATTERY

The battery which can be recharged after use by passing electric current through it in the opposite direction is called Secondary battery. A good SECONDARY battery or cell can be undergo a large no. of discharge or charged cycles.

For example, Lead storage cell and nickel cadmium cell.
