prokaryotic and Eukaryotic on the basis of the presence or absence of certain organelles. in organisms like bacteria and blue green algae the nucleus is not well organised. it does not show the presence of a nuclear membrane or any other membrane bound organelles. neither it has a distinct genetic material. such organisms are called prokaryotes. on the other hand those organisms which have a well organised nucleus are called eukaryotes.
