- Cell size is small ( 0.1 - 5.0µm )
- It has one envelope organisation.
- Organised nucleus is absent.
- Nucleolus is absent.
- DNA is without histones & usually circular.
- Amount of DNA is low.
- Translation and transcription occur in the cytoplasm.
- Protien synthesis occurs in cytoplasm.
- Respiratory enzymes are associated with plasma memberane.
- Cytoplasm doesn't show streaming movements.
- Ribosomes are of 70s type.
- Spindle apparatus is not formed during division.
- Microtubules and microfilaments are commonly absent.
Eukaryotic Cells-
- Cell size is large. ( 5 to 100µm )
- It has two envelopes organization.
- Organised nucleus is present.
- Nucleolus is present.
- DNA is with or without histones & linear.
- Amount of DNA is high.
- Transcription occurs in nucleus while translation takes place in cytoplasm.
- Protien synthesis takes place in cytoplasm, mitochondria & plastids.
- Respiratory enzymes are present in cytoplasm as well as mitochondria.
- Cytoplasm shows streaming movement.
- Ribosomes are of 80S type.
- Spindle apparatus is formed during division.
- Microtubules & microfilaments are present.
