angiosperms

ovules are enclosed in the ovary.

archaegonia are absent.

each ovule has only one female gamete.

endosperm is triploid and formed after fertilization.

gymnosperms

ovules are naked in the ovary.

2 to 8 archaegonia are present.

one ovule has 2 to 8 female gametes.

no double fertilization.

endosperm is haploid and formed before fertilization.
