KHARIF
They are down in the onset of monsoon

They are harvested in September to October.
Important crops grown are paddy, maize,jowar,bajra etc..
Most important rice producing states are Assam,W.B,Andhra Pradesh etc.
RABI
They are sown in winter from October to december and harvested in summer from April to june.
Some important ravi crops are wheat,barley,peas etc..
These crops are grown i. Punjab,Haryana,Uttarakhand etc.
Availability of precipitation during winter months due to the western temperate cyclone helps in the success of these crops.
