In ratioed logic networks, the pull up network and the pull down network are connected in series to each other. In contrast, in ratioless logic networks, the pull up network and the pull down network are connected parallel to each other. Also, if the output voltage is dependent on the aspect ratio of the transistors, then the circuit features ratioed logic. If there is no dependency between the output voltage and transistors, then the circuit works on the principle of ratioless logic.
NMOS circuits are examples of ratioed logic family, whereas CMOS circuits can be considered as instances of ratioless logic family.
