Rectangular and Triangular notch:

Rectangular notch:

• Rectangular notch takes its name from the shape of the notch.

• The discharge through the notch is directly proportional to the water depth.

• The head is influenced by velocity, contraction, and condition of a crest.

Triangular notch:

• The triangular notch is V in shape.

• The triangular notch causes a small change in discharge and so causes high changes in depth.

Hope it helped.....
