Regur soil : It is also known as black soil.
It is made up of lava.
It can hold moisture.
It is rich in calcium carbonate, potash,lime.
Crops grown in this soil are sugarcane and cotton.
This soil is found in the region of Deccan plateau.

Laterite soil; It develops in an area of high temperature and high rainfall.
It is formed by leaching.
Humus content of this soil is very low.
Crops grown in this soil are tea, coffee, rubber, cashew nut, coconut.
It is found in the region of karnataka, Kerala, Tamil badi and madhya pradesh.
