RER is the rough endoplasmic reticulum but the SCR is the smooth endoplasmic reticulum the rough endoplasmic reticulum is rough because it contain the ribosomes on it .

Rough Endoplasmic Reticulum contains Ribosomes which helps in protein synthesis .

SER:

Smooth Endoplasmic Reticulum does not contain ribosomes that's why they are smooth and kill the poisions.
