Resistance is the property of a conductor, which determines the quantity of current that passes through it when a potential difference is applied across it. Conductor is a device through an electric current flows without much obstruction (resistance).

Every substance has property to oppose electric current flowing through it. This property of substance is called resistivity of that substance.
Now those substance which has very low resistivity is called conductor cos it let's current pass through easyly eg. Copper, and the substance has high ressistivity they tend to oppose elctric current so they are called resistors. eg wood, plastic etc
